We have monthly meetings with an educational program, rock auction, door prizes, raffles and a business meeting. Currently our meetings are at the Tates Creek Public Library on Tates Creek Road or at the Beaumont Library on Harrodsburg Road in Lexington, KY. We meet the third Sunday of every month at 1:00 PM in the library’s community room. We encourage rock enthusiasts to join us at our meetings. We also lead monthly field trips for members to various sites around Kentucky and the surrounding region. At various times during the year we also sponsor gem and mineral shows that provide an opportunity for the public to see and purchase, rocks, gems, minerals and jewelry. We are a non-profit educational organization, which was founded in 1961, to promote the interests of geology, minerals, fossils, and lapidary arts in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Meeting Information When: Third Tuesday of each month Where: Louisville Nature Center 3745 Illinois Ave. Louisville, Kentucky 40213 Time: 7:00 – 7:30 PM — Social Time and Swap-meet 7:30 – 9:30 PM — Regular Meeting Directions: The Louisville Nature Center is located across from the Louisville Zoo and Northeast of the Louisville International Airport. I-264 E of I-65 to Poplar Level Road N; Right – Trevilian Way; Left on Illinois Avenue, just before the zoo; park on the right in the Louisville Nature Center lot.
