The Burlington Gem and Mineral Club is a northern Vermont club open to anyone interested in minerals, mineral collecting, gems, fossils, and lapidary crafts. Club activities include presentations by club members and invited speakers at monthly meetings, field trips to collect minerals or fossils, and our annual gem, mineral and fossil show held each July. To promote an interest in minerals and fossils, the club also sponsors talks at local schools. The Burlington Gem and Mineral Club is a member of the Eastern Federation of Mineralogical and Lapidary Societies (EFMLS) and American Federation of Mineralogical Societies (AFMS). The Rutland Rock and Mineral Club is an acttive group of people united by a common bond, What is that bond ? Their excitement about collecting rocks and minerals. The rock has members whose interests span from crystals to gems and lapidary to fossils. People of all ages are welcome members range from ages 8 to 80.Anyone with an interest in any phase of the hobby is welcomed to join. MEETINGS Meetings are held September through December and March through June.Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month and are held at Haven Health Center on Nichols St in Rutland Vt in the basement in the community center. After a short business meeting we have snacks provided by club members. We then have presentations,videos,speakers and demonstrations. Attendees are able to win door prizes. MEMBERSHIP Membership is $7.50 for individuals or $10.00 per family membership includes club newsletters,club sponsored field trips and liability insurance.
